This page explains in plain language what migration.hk (the “site”) actually collects, how it is used and what rights you have.
In one sentence
You do not need to register an account or give your name or contact details to browse this site. We use Cloudflare analytics (no cookies) to understand overall traffic. If you use the on-site chat, we keep the conversation, plus any contact details you choose to leave, so that we can see whether we can connect you with a suitable licensed professional, and tell you if we cannot.
1. When you browse the site
- We do not ask you to register an account or give your name or contact details.
- Analytics: the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which only counts aggregate browsing data (which pages were viewed, the referring site, country or region, device type). It sets no cookies and does no cross-site tracking.
- Access logs: the site is hosted on Cloudflare, whose network layer routinely records visitor IP addresses, browser user agents and access times for security and performance. Cloudflare’s privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
2. When you use the on-site chat
- We keep what you type in the chat.
- If you need someone to look at your specific situation, the chat may ask you to leave one contact method (email, phone or an instant messaging account; one is enough). Whether to leave one is up to you.
- Once you leave a contact method, we will see whether we can connect you with a suitable licensed professional, and we will tell you if we cannot. Your contact method and a summary of your question are only passed on when we make that connection. This site is not an immigration agency, does not handle applications and does not reach conclusions on individual cases.
- Chat replies are generated by an AI model, and your messages are processed by this site’s chat service and by the provider of that model. Please do not submit passport numbers, ID numbers, bank account details or payment details in the chat.
3. How we use this information
- To answer the questions you ask in the chat.
- Where you leave a contact method, to see whether we can connect you with a suitable licensed professional, and to tell you if we cannot.
- To improve our content using aggregate traffic data.
4. Third-party sites
This site links to third-party sites such as the Hong Kong Immigration Department, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, GOV.UK, Canada’s IRCC and Immigration New Zealand. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and migration.hk is not responsible for them.
5. Your rights
